Wave overtopping of smooth impermeable seawalls under unidirectional bimodal sea conditions

چکیده
Reduction of risks due to overtopping coastal defences is an essential requirement for the design, management and adaptation structures. Extensive knowledge available on prediction smooth, sloping vertical impermeable seawalls. The existing methods provide less certain guidance combined wind swell conditions. This experimental study focuses characteristics seawalls under random bimodal waves. Both unimodal corresponding conditions were simulated different slopes crest freeboards. Proportions in sea varied each test. Mean wave discharges calculated non-breaking waves over at least 1000 EurOtop formulae agree closely with our measurements from experiments whereas they underpredict observed rates even when using recommended Tm?1,0 period such cases. A modification formula proposed basis results, better capture discharge

Estimation of wave run-up on smooth, impermeable slopes using the wave momentum flux parameter
This paper re-examines existing wave run-up data for regular, irregular and solitary waves on smooth, impermeable plane slopes. A simple physical argument is used to derive a new wave run-up equation in terms of a dimensionless wave parameter representing the maximum, depth-integrated momentum flux in a wave as it reaches the toe of the structure slope. This parameter is a physically relevant d...
متن کاملSolution of Wave Equations Near Seawalls by Finite Element Method
A 2D finite element model for the solution of wave equations is developed. The fluid is considered as incompressible and irrotational. This is a difficult mathematical problem to solve numerically as well as analytically because the condition of the dynamic boundary (Bernoulli’s equation) on the free surface is not fixed and varies with time. The finite element technique is applied to solve non...

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
Numerical Simulation of Wave Overtopping Over Composite Berm Breakwater
Breakwaters have changed a lot during their design history. Overtopping is an important parameter that its evaluation and reduction has always been noticed. In this study, the wave overtopping of composite berm breakwater as a new conceptual structure has been investigated numerical modeling was performed using FLOW-3D software. Then, based on a laboratory model conducted by Losada et al, cali...
